A new beginning

The start of my blog, my Muay Thai journey, and what this all means

Muay Thai Gloves     October 10th, 2021, marks the date of the first blog post I’ve ever made and published on this website. It marks the start of a new journey, one where I hope to share my enthusiasm in Muay Thai in the form of valuable information, helpful posts with things I’ve learned and more. A few specific topics I will cover on this website include the following:

       – Scientific breakdowns of training methods, not just surface level content

       – Blog posts to help optimize your training

       – Technique blogs

       – Potential fight breakdowns

       – Answering specific and interesting questions

For example, I later intend to explain if and how weight lifting can increase explosiveness by explaining specific processes in the body rather than just telling you “lifting fast makes you fast.” I’ll also explain how slow runs will help you in fights by going into depth and telling you what is happening inside your body. Understanding what your training is accomplishing is useful for a multitude of reasons.

Of course – maybe you’re wondering who I am. Well, on here I’m known as ‘The WannabeNakMuay’.  A nickname based on my dreams of becoming a Muay Thai fighter in Thailand one day, living off the sport. This blog is built with the intention of helping me achieve this goal, while also giving back to the community.

I’m still quite new to this sport, only picking Muay Thai up in the COVID period. But ever since then, I’ve been absolutely addicted. There’s simply nothing else in my life that makes me so happy and keeps me so passionate. I fully intent to fight, but I have not been given an opportunity yet. So all of my information is built on theory, science and a collection of useful resources. I do not have a degree in kinesiology  either, but it is a field I am also enthusiastic about, attending a kinesiology course as well as  a 4-month full time CO-OP program at a physiotherapist office. So all of my posts will be researched backed with links, so you know they are genuine and trustable.

This blog will likely remain non-personal, as a tool to help you guys rather than a story of my life’s journey. Perhaps with time I will become more open with who I am, but for now my goal is only to help.
